Cory Luebke-3-5 vs. Clayton Kershaw-12-4

After an exhausting day yesterday, the Dodgers begin august with a three game set in San Diego. this will be a six game road trip for the Dodgers. they will also play three games this weekend in Arizona before coming back home. the Dodgers played better in July finishing with a 12-13 record. they had a winning homstand finishing with a 5-4 record.
the Dodgers are 48-59 fourth place in the NL west 12.5 games back of first.

young Cory Luebke will get the ball tonight for a depleted Padres team. after the trading deadline, the Padres flipped two players for prospects. they traded setup man Mike Adams, to texas, and Outfielder Ryan Ludwick to the Pirates. however they did not trade Heath Bell.
Luebke is 3-5 this year with a 2.90 ERA. the lefty has pitched well allowing a .190 BAA. in his last outing he lost to Arizona, allowing four runs.
the Dodgers will counter with Clayton kershaw. Kershaw is continuing his dominant run towards a Cy Young consideration. Kershaw has won his last four outings. he is 12-4 with a 2.72 ERA. hes second in wins, leads the league with 173 strikeouts, and is in the top ten in ERA, innings pitched, and WHIP.
hes pitched extremly well against San Diego posting a 2.55 ERA. he should make mince meat out of a pathetic San Diego lineup.

game time tonight is 710PM on prime ticket. stick with us for the postgame recap after the game.
go blue!
