Cliff Lee out piches and out hits Dodgers

Phillies  2 6 0
Dodgers 1 6 1

god I hate Cliff Lee. god I hate the Phillies. well Cliff Lee singlehanded-lee beat the Dodgers with his arm and his bat. Lee pitched 8 shutout innings only allowing 4 hits, with two walks, and striking out 10 Dodgers while making 124 pitches. he also hit his second homerun a solo shot off Ted Lilly in the 8th inning as the Phillies beat the Dodgers again 2-1.

School interfered with my ability to watch the entire game, but I only missed the first 4 and a half innings.

Lilly actually pitched very well going 8 innings only allowing 1 homerun and 2 runs. but its the Filthies and Cliff Lee, so his only chance at getting a win was to pitch a shutout, and there was no way in hell that was gonna happen.

so it was a scoreless game up until the top of the third. Valdez bloops a single into center. Lee sacrifices Valdez to second. Rollins doubles home Valdez and its 1-0 filthies. then apparently rat face was hit by a pitch in the face. everyone in dodger stadium booed rat face each time he came to the plate. good to know were not the only ones who cant stand Victorino. I would never activly root for someone to get hurt, but......yeah hit that fucker in the face.
Utley grounds into a force out, and Big Nose grounds out to end the frame.

Cliff lee dominated the Dodgers again. did you know that in now 4 career starts against the dodgers he has only allowed 1 measly run while walking only 4 and striking out 33? my lord his ERA against us is lower than 1.00. the Dodgers had the first two guys get on base. Carroll singled, Gordon bunted for a hit. (I cant stand all this bunting anymore). after that Lee retired every single Dodgers until Blake singled to open up the 5th.

Bison makes a great catch in the fourth inning.

it was a 1-0 phillies game until Cliff Lee with 1 out in the 7th inning, homered into the right field pavillion. this has got to be a low moment for Lilly right? I was almost going to praise him for a very well pitched game. he still pitched well, but we all know Lilly absolutly cant get through a start without allowing a homerun, and his meatballs hang so much that even a pitcher can take him deep. sad and pathetic.

A low moment for Lilly as Cliff Lee rounds the bases

so its 2-0 now, the Dodgers did nothing against Lee in the bottom half of the 7th, except for a Big Rod walk.

Lilly pitches a 123 inning in the 8th for his final innings of work.

move to the bottom of the 8th inning. our genious manager has the hitless wonder Eugenio Velez bat for Lilly, amazingly he draws a walk off of Lee. yeah Lee was still in. the Dodgers just couldnt get rid of him. while Gordon was batting he took an awkward swing and reaggravated his shoulder injury and had to be removed. poor Trent Oeljten had to come in and inherit an 0-2 count against Cliff Lee, after barly playing for the last month.
Oeltjen grounds into a double play, and Carroll strikes out swinging. completing another Cliff Lee F-you to the Dodgers.

Hawksworth pitches a 123 top of the 9th.
move to the bottom of the 9th with the Dodgers down 2-0, they would score there token run while another 9th inning rally falls short. Ryan Madson comes into close again for Philadelphia.
Ethier leads off and singles. Kemp then hits into a force out, Ethier is erased at second, and the throw to first is way off, and Kemp is aboard.  Rivera hist for Miles, and with Kemp running on the play, grounds out. Kemp reaches second safly. Blake then gets a groundball single into right, which scores Kemp and its 2-1. however Big Rod feebly strikes out on a pitch 5 feet off the plate, with another one of his golf swings. and thats the game.

not like none of us saw this coming or anything. the only bright spot at the end of the tunnel is that the more losses bring us closer to the eventual firing of Don Mattingly and the non-tendering or release of most of the bum players. I cant wait to watch that happen.

tonight the Dodgers wore Brooklyn hats and batting helmets in honor of Duke Snider on Duke Snider bobblehead night.

join us tomorrow to watch the filthies sweep the Dodgers.  Chad Billingsley will take the mound for the Dodgers against rookie phenom Vance Worley. tomorrow's game is an early 1210pm throwback game televised on Prime Ticket. have a great night Dodger fans. GO BLUE!
