Welcome to the Dodgers Nathan

Dodgers  1 6 1
Brewers  3 6 1
WP-Greinke-12-4
LP-Eovaldi-1-1
SV-Axford-36
HR-Gwynn-1

tonight's Dodger starter joined an exclusive group of dodger tough luck pitchers. this kid is gonna fit right in on this ball club. Eovaldi pitched his heart out tonight, limiting a clearly superior Milwaukee lineup to only 2 runs through 7 innings. however the Dodgers offensive failures continued as they lost 3-1, dropping the third game in a row to Milwaukee.

Eovaldi pitched well but takes a tough luck loss, welcome to the Dodgers Nathan!

in the top of the first, Gwynn leads off with a single, and is erased on Blake's fielder's choice grounder with  Gwynn applying a great take out slide. Ethier hits a long fly ball to center that might have gone out, but of coarse Milwaukee center fielder Niger Morgan goes all the way to the wall and leaps robbing Ethier of an extra base hit. dammit. then Kemp whiffs to end the first.

in the bottom of the first, with 1 out, Braun singles, Fielder hits into an inning ending double play. this was a very nice play by Sellers. he lunged to his right to make a nice stop, then did a leaping throw to second for a 6-4-3 double play. so far Ive liked what I've seen from Sellers.

move to the bottom of the third, Lucroy leads off with a ground rule double. Grienke sacrifices Lucroy to third. hart walks. with the Dodger infield playing halfway, Morgan gets awarded first base on a ball that badly grazes his uniform. the bases are loaded now and its not looking good. Braun hits a liner that was heading right into center field, but Sellers makes a diving glove extension catch. he lands on his stomach and flips the ball to miles for an inning ending double play. it keeps the game scoreless and saves the Dodgers bacon. this kid can play shortstop!

the Dodgers have another failed rally in the top of the fourth. they lose the bases and typically don't score.
with 1 out, Ethier walks, and Kemp is safe on a Betancourt error that sends Ethier to second. Miles singles and everyone moves up 90 feet, and the bases are loaded. we all know what this means for the Dodgers, epic failure. Loney whiffs at a pitch in this dirt, and Navarro weakly grounds out. pathetic.

theres a bunch of outs until the top of the 6th, with the game still scoreless,  Ethier singles, but Kemp and Miles whiff, Loney walks, and Navarro grounds back to the box.

in the bottom of the 6th, the brewers finally break the tie. with 1 out, braun walks, Fielder singles Braun to second, Mcgehee walks to load the bases, and now were really screwed. Betancourt pops up, but of coarse,  resident dickwad Jerry hairston singles to shallow center, gahhh we were so close to getting out of it. Braun and Fielder score, but Bison guns down Mcgehee at third base for the third out. but its 2-0 Brewers.

Miles tags out Mcgehee at third base
the Dodgers get their lone run in the top of the 7th. Tony Gwynn who went 3 for 4 on the night, hits one out for his first homerun of the year. 2-1 Milwaukee.

Gwynn celebrates after hitting his first home run of the season.
but that one run was all the Dodgers feeble lineup could muster.

in the bottom of the 7th the Dodger bullpen puts more gasoline on the fire, and coughs up a run, Lindblom takes over for Eovaldi. young Nathan pitches very well allowing only two runs through 6 but he takes the tough luck loss.
Lucroy singles, theres a wild pitch that sends him all the way to third because Navarro couldn't find the ball that bounced into no man's land, then the 100 year old craig counsell walks, but the ball four pitch is wild of coarse, and Lucroy scores, making it a 3-1 game. Counsell tries to steal which is hilarious, and he is thrown out. Hart fouls out, and Morgan strikes out to end the inning.

Latroy Hawkins relieves Greinke in the top of the 8th and pitches a scoreless inning.

Lindblom strikes out Braun in the bottom half of the 8th, then is finally taken out, Mattingly brings in Elbert and he gets Fielder and Mcgehee.

move to the top of the 9th. Brewers closer Axford is on the mound, Navarro whiffs, Sellers walks. Rivera comes off the bench, and strikes out looking like a statue. Sellers steals second, but gwynn strikes out swinging to end the game.

the Brewers beat the Dodgers for the third game in a row.
the Dodgers also lost Casey Blake who had to leave the game with some kind of shoulder injury. we all knew it wouldn't be long before Blake would wind up back on the DL. now the Dodgers are running out of infielders. Gordon and Uribe is hurt, Hit Machine was traded, and the only infielders the Dodgers have that are healthy is Loney, Miles, Carroll, Sellers, and the worst player in the majors Eugenio Velez.

another pathetic performance tonight from the Dodger offense. sorry Nathan, get used to it. the Dodgers will try not to be swept tomorrow as Clayton Kershaw will take the mound in an early afternoon, late morning 1110AM start time on Prime Ticket. take it easy Dodger fans. GO BLUE
