Kemp's walk off flare wins it for the Dodgers

Astros    0 3 0
Dodgers 1 5 0
WP-Lindblom-1-0
LP-Carpenter-2-0

well Dodger fans I gues things could always be worse right? at least were not Astros fans and.....oh wait we had lost 4 out of 6 to them. crap. the Dodgers go from playing the best team in baseball to playing the worst team. they do beat Houston tonight though 1-0 in 10 innings. another deadlocked game the Dodgers eek out with a victory and improve their record to 6-0 in extra inning games, here is how it happened.....

Eovaldi pitches 6 scoreless innings.

in the top of the first, Shuck leads off with a walk, but Altuve grounds into a double play.

in the bottom half, Ethier walks with two outs, but Kemp grounds into a force play. no score.

Eovaldi pitches a 123 second inning, as Blake makes a ncie play to snare a liner off the bat of Carlos Lee.
in the bottom of the second inning, Loney singles, and Navarro walks, but Sellers in his first at bat flies out and Eovaldi strikes out.

Sellers flies out in his first big league at bat

Eovaldi pitches another 123 inning striking out Barmes and Norris.

Norris strikes out Miles and Blake in the bottom half of the third.

Eovaldi runs into trouble for the first time in the top of the 4th. Shuck walks, Altuve hits a flare blooper into center, Bison dives but it bounces in and out of his glove. this puts runners at first and second, Bourgeois sacrifices the runners to second and third. theres a walk to Carlos Lee, Martinez hits a soft liner to Miles, and Paredes flies out to Kemp. the Dodgers get out of it, and the game is still scoreless.

Bison dives for a ball in the 4th inning.

in the bottom of the 5th with two outs, Loney and Navarro walk, but Sellers flies out.
both pitchers are locked in now.

Eovaldi retires the side in order in the top of the 5th. and Norris strikes out the side in the bottom half, as Eovaldi, Miles, and Blake all whiff.

in Eovaldi's last inning of work in the top of the 6th, Shuck lines out to Miles, Altuve flies out, but Bourgeois singles, Lee walks, but Martiez flys out.

after De La Rosa's injury the dodgers are extra paranoid putting Eovaldi on a strict pitchcount, and pulling him after 6 innings with the game scoreless, not caring about the outcome apparently.

Eovaldi pitches very well going 6 allowing only 2 hits, 4 walks, and striking out 3.

Norris retires the Dodgers in order again in the bottom of the 6th inning, and Guerrier strikes out the side in the top of the 7th, getting Paredes, Barmes, and Corporan all to whiff pathetically. still no score.

Don Mattingly's ignorance rears its ugly head in the 7th inning. Loney leads off with another lucky groundball single. so far Loney has the only two Dodger hits. with Navarro at bat, Mattingly decides to bunt again, and to no one's suprise Navarro fails at it. he bunts out to the pitcher for the first out.

I just dont understand Mattingly's obession with bunting. its so stupid. we cant keep giving away outs to the opposing team, damm no wonder were in last place.
so now with an out, Sellers flys out, and then Carroll pathetically whiffs to end the inning.

Norris goes 7 allowing just two hits walking four and striking out 8.

still scoreless in the 8th inning, and Dougie comes in to pitch for the Dodgers.
Bogesevic hitting for Bud Norris (who according to vin was nicknamed Bud because he tried to order a beer at a resteraunt at age three.) singles.
Shuck tries to bunt but he lays down a bunt that doesnt go anywhere, and the Dodgers get a double play. Altuve strikes out ending the inning.

Fernando Rodriguez comes in for relief for Houston to pitch the bottom of the 8th. with two outs, he walks Ethier, but Kemp flies out. still scoreless into the 9th inning, and the scorefest continues.

Guerra comes in for the top of the 9th, and works a very quick easy 123 9th inning.

move to the bottom of the 9th, with Rodriguez still pitching, Rivera continues his torrid hitting by leading off with a triple into the gap. the end result of this inning really sums up the Dodgers failures this season. Houston walks Loney and Navarro intentionally hoping to setup some kind of force out or double play via home plate.
the Dodgers are hitting .173 with the bases loaded, see Tony Gwynn whiff pathetically like a loser. Carroll hits a little tapper back to the mound, and Velez (who was running for rivera) is out at home on the force play, and Miles goes 3-2 before he grounds out ending the inning, and the Dodgers dont get nothin'

Lindlbom comes into pitch as the game goes into extra innings.

Blue Book Notes:the Dodgers are a perfect 5-0 in extra inning games this year.

David Carpenter starts the bottom of the 10th for Houston, and Blake leads off with a double down the right field line, the count goes to 3-1 on Ethier and then Houston walks him. this brings up Kemp, but remember Velez ran for Rivera so that bum is hitting in Rivera's spot. joy.
Houston has a meeting on the mound. Kemp the Dodgers egg and butter man, finally ends the game by flaring a bloop single just inside the right field line. Shuck makes a valiant effort, but to no avail. Blake scores, and the Dodgers win 1-0!!!

Kemp's walk off single wins it for the Dodgers

well Dodger fans a win is a win, no matter who we play. tomorrow night Clayton Kershaw takes the mound. tomorrows game time is 710. see ya tomorrow Dodger fans GO BLUE!
