Dodgers @ Marlins
9:10 am
Game 3
The Dodgers will play their final game at Sun Life Stadium this morning before we get to visit the Marlins' new digs next year. The new stadium will feature a sliding roof and an aquarium. Chad Billingsley (2-1, 4.13) will be weather tested again as he goes from pitching in the cold conditions of Chicago to hot, humid southern Florida. Bills has pitched great in his last two outings, allowing only one earned run in his last two starts. Anibal Sanchez (1-1, 3.55) will be a tough opponent since in his last outing he almost threw the second no-hitter of his career against the Rockies. Dexter Fowler broke up the nine hitless innings when he singled to lead off in the ninth. He still got a 1-hit complete game,
winning 4-1.
Some bad news was tweeted this morning concerning Casey Blake. His elbow is infected, and a fever forced him to the hospital last night. Here's to a speedy recovery, Blaker!
Kuo struggled in a single A rehab game Tuesday night. He is eligible to come off the DL Friday, but that is looking doubtful.
Lineup:
Gwynn 7
Carroll 6
Ethier 9
Kemp 8
Loney 3
Barajas 2
Miles 5
De Jesus 4
Billingsley 1
Gwynn gets the start in left field, while Sands gets the morning off. Ethier goes for 24 in a row! Loney had the game of his life yesterday with four hits and a stolen base. I'm sure he'll be back to groundball outs today. At least Miles isn't leading off.
Sit down with your cup of coffee while we enjoy some early morning baseball! Go Blue:)
