Collection of Colorado Bastards beat Dodgers with their bastardness

Dodgers  5  10  1
Rockies   7    9  1
WP-Hammel-(1-0)
LP-Billingsly-(1-1)
SV-Street(3)
HR-Barajas-1-Loney-1
Helton-1-Tulowitzki-2

Colorado beat the Dodgers today 7-5 on a cold dreary day in the mountains, using a collection of their most bastardly players, plus help from the annoying coors field air. despite a late rally in the 9th from the Dodgers.
the Rockies and Dodgers both hit two home runs, but the rockies had men on base, while the Dodgers did not, which was the difference in the game.

both starting pitchers were not long for this game. Bills who has never pitched well in Colorado, only lasted 3 innings, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits, walking 3 and striking out 3.

Hammels went 5 innings allowing 4 runs 6 hits, 3 walks, and 2 Ks.

after a ho hum top of the first, the bastards got on the board first,  smith doubles, cargo doubles, scoring smith. then after mullet man pops out and helton walks, lopez singles to plate cargo. 2-0 colorado.

the Dodgers got back one when Loney went yard, over the wall in left. (yes a Loney homer!). 2-1

in the top of the third, the Dodgers broke out to score three runs to take the lead temporarily 4-2

Big Rod Homers, then with 1 out Hit machine walks. blake fresh off the DL (good game today despite error) who always hits well there, member his grand slam last year? blake triples into the gap, scoring furcal. 3-2 Dodgers. Ethier then singles home blake. 4-2 Dodgers. Loney grounded into a double play to end the inning.

then the wheels fell off for the Dodgers and bills in the 5th. Cargo leads off and walks. mullet man singles to left cargo moves to third. then unfortunatly for bills and the Dodgers, 38 years ago Todd Helton was born. he homers to give the rockies a 5-4 lead. I swear ive had it with that asshole. hes been killing us for years now.
bills managed to get out of the inning without allowing another run, after a error by blake, dropping a ground ball, stewert flies out, after a walk to iannetta, hamels grounds out, and fowler strikes out.

hawksworth was brought in to pitch the 4th.  he gives up a single to cargo, and then mullet man homers, to pad Colorado's lead to 7-4.

Kenley Jansen looked impressive, pitching two scoreless innings, as his star continues to shine bright.
gurrier pitches a scoreless 7th, while Morales pitches two scoreless innings for Col.
Lindstrom comes into pitch the top of the 8th and allowed a run. Kemp doubled, went to third on a Loney grounder, and then scores on a groundout by Uribe. for Uribe the RBI, was his 600th of his career.

with the score 7-5 in favor of the rockies, Houston Street, comes in to close the game, and almost blew it, and was only saved by a great catch in left by cargo, and Donnie baseball's inexperience.

Big Rod singles down the line to lead off the 9th.  this was a hit down the left field line, and anyone else would have been a double. inexplicably Big Rod is not pinch ran for, even though Tony Gwynn was just sitting there on the bench. Carroll then singles Big Rod to second, and the Dodgers have a rally going, but Big Rod remains at second.
Furcal then hits a long fly to left that Cargo had to make a great running catch on at the wall, probably saving the game for the Rockies.
next Donnie lets Gimenez pinch hit for Gurrier. another bad idea. Gimenez looked terribly overmatched, and struck out. im thinking he should be the next to board the DFA train once Garland returns next week.
with Street still pitching, Ethier strikes out swinging to end the game.

the Dodgers leave the house of horrors and fly to San Diego, and after a off day tomorrow start a three game series this weekend on friday. this game pissed me off, however there were some positives to take out of this. first the bullpen looked pretty good, especially jansesn and gurrier. Blake swung the bat very well, getting two hits, including a triple. they also seemed to be swinging the bats better, and it took a great catch from cargo to beat them. anyone else might not have caught that ball hit by furcal, and then its possibly a double, driving in the tying runs. the Dodgers are now 3-3.
friday nights game is at 715 on primeticket Lilly vs. richards see you then. go blue!
