Dodgers padres suspended due to rain, will resume game in 9th at 535pm

Dodgers  2  5 1
Padres    2  8 1
WILL RESUME AT 535PM BEFORE REGULAR GAME AT 715

the Dodgers Padres game on friday night, was suspended due to rain, and the late time, with the game tied at 2-2 in the top of the 9th, with the Dodgers batting and Kemp at first.

Ted Lilly started for the Dodgers, against Clayton Richards for San Diego. after the first inning, the game was stopped for the first delay. all total there were 3 seperate delays totaling 3 hours and 36 minutes.

the Dodgers offense was pathetic again, scoring both runs off of errors, and kemp's hits.

Kemp went 3 for 3 with an RBI single, and commited an error.

Lilly pitched 4 2/3, while Richard only pitched an inning, and did not come back out after the first delay. he was relaced by Cory Luebke who pitched 4 innings, allowing 1 unearned run, walking 2 and strikeing out 5.
he was releived by Chad Qualls for 1 inning, followed by Luke Gregerson, Mike Adams, and Heath Bell all for 1 inning each. Heath Bell is still the pitcher of record for San Diego, while the Dodgers had Mike Macdougal relieve Lilly in the 5th. He was followed by Jansen for 1 inning, Guerrier for 1 and 2/3, and then Kuo for 1/3 of an inning. Kuo is still the pitcher of record for the Dodgers.

the Dodgers scored first in the top of the 4th. Blake and Kemp walked. with Uribe at bat, Blake tries to steal third. (wait didnt he throw his back out doing crap like this?) Kemp attempted to steal second as well. it was a double steal, SD catcher Nick Huindly, attempting to throw Kemp out, throws the ball into center field for an error. Blake scores while Kemp goes to third. Uribe grounds out, and Loney strikes out to end the inning.

in the bottom of the 5th, the padres tie it up. Venable singles off of Lilly, the ball bounces off of Kemp's glove from the wet grass. Venable goes to second on the error. venable advances to third on a bartlett fly ball.  with 1 out, former Dodger Orlando Hundson (O-dog) singles scoring venable. after Cantu doubles Hudson to third, Macdougal is brought in to replace Lilly.
Hudson ends up scoring on a groundout.  2-1 SD

with 1 out in the 6th, the Dodgers get even again, Blake singles, and advances to second on a passed ball by Hundly, ethier then singles blake to third. Blake scores on another single from Kemp. tie game at 2-2

after Kemp singles to lead off the top of the 9th, with the game tied at 2, in front of basically an empty stadium, after several rain delays, the umps finally called it. The game will be resumed tomorrow at 535PM, before the regularly scheduled game at 705PM. tonight was a very strange game, and Im not sure how this will work tomorrow, or who will pitch for the Dodgers, however if they can somehow score a run, and end the first game quick, then that should work in the Dodgers favor. I do know that the game will resume exactly where it left off in the 9th. we will have more info for you tomorrow, in our double Pre game post up! until then Dodger fans......Go Blue!!!
