Dodgers Look into the Eyes of the Tigers

Tigers @ Dodgers
7:10pm
Game 1

Hallelujah, we got a win yesterday. Even though it was off 3 hits including two from Navarro and one from Loney, at this point we will take anything. The Detroit Tigers come into town tonight for a three game series and the first Interleague play at Dodger Stadium this season. Let's hope we can squeeze out another win here. Last season the Dodgers lost all three games in Detroit and the Dodgers won 2 of 3 at Dodger Stadium. The Tigers are 6 games over .500 and only 1 game back of first place behind Cleveland in the AL Central.

Old familiar friend, Brad Penny (5-5, 4.93) will be returning to pitch at Dodger Stadium for the first time in two years. Brad Penny won 16 games for the Dodgers in 2006 and 2007. Since leaving the Dodgers in 2008 with injury, Penny has played for the Red Sox, Giants, Cardinals, and now the Tigers. Penny really never has had a better record than he did in his Dodger days of '06/'07. He has been pretty mediocre since. Brad Penny has made news outside of the baseball diamond when he began dating and became engaged to Dancing With the Stars pro-dancer and Playboy model Karina Smirnoff. Brad & Karina will be getting married on January 12, 2012.  Clayton Kershaw (6-3, 3.28), the Dodgers new young ace, will counter Penny, the Dodgers former ace.

In the continuing Dodger divorce dilemma, Bud Selig has rejected the proposed multi-billion dollar FOX deal with the Dodgers. Since The McCourts' divorce proceedings hinged on this deal, they will now go back to court presumably and the Dodgers are now closer to being up for sale unless McCourt decides to sue MLB. We will keep you updated to the continuing drama.

Lineup:

Gordon 6
Uribe 4
Ethier 9
Kemp 8
Loney 3
Thames 7
Navarro 2
Carroll 4
Kershaw 1

Don Mattingly once again decided that putting out a winning lineup is just too much of a hassle. Juan Uribe, who is hitting a atrocious .207, is second in the lineup once again. Then there's Thames again, who is in auto out territory with an even more disgusting .173 average.

Let's tame those Tigers, Dodger fans! Go Blue:)
