the Dodgers return home on independence day, for a seven game homestand that will take us up to the all-star break. theyll begin with a four game set against the Mets.

the Dodgers made more news today, by sending down Shortstop Dee Gordon, and calling up light hitting Eugenio Velez. we remember him from spring training a little. he can play all four infield positions, good fielder, alot of speed, but cant hit a lick, so he should fit in with the rest of the automatic outs, just fine. just sit him next to Uribe, and hell learn all he needs to on how to hit sub .200 without any power.

the pitching matchup tonight, features lefty Chris Capuano, who has pitched decent this year, against Rubby De La Rosa for the Dodgers. DLR is looking for his fourth win of the season.

with us dreaming of the days when we were mediocre, the Mets have climbed back to .500 with a record of 42-42. Jose Reyes is still sidelined with a strained hamstring. so we wont have to face him tonight, so quite a break for us.

game time at 605. go red white and Dodger blue! happy fourth everyone!
