Dee Gordon scores the winning run in the 10th
The Dodgers winning streak reached 6 games tonight in Atlanta, as the Dodgers beat the Braves 2-1 in 10 innings. the game was tied at 1-1 through the entire game, until the Dodgers were able to pull it out and score a run in the top of the 10th, before Javy Guerra closed shop picking up his 15th save. Nathan Eovaldi pitched 6 innings of 1 run ball, in what should be his last start before being moved to the bullpen.
A.J. Ellis slugged his second homer of the season to put the Dodgers on the board, Dee Gordon's leg Double put the winning run into scoring position and Rivera's scoring fly ball brought him home easily from third base.
The Dodger bullpen was lights out, as Kuo, Elbert, Dougie, Jansen, and Guerra didn't allow anything to the powerful Atlanta offense.

The Dodger defense also came up big again today, turning several key double plays to keep the braves from scoring throughout a very Sketchy game.

top of the second, Ellis slugs his second homer of the season over the left center field wall. 1-0 Dodgers.

in the bottom of the second, the Braves would answer right back, as Dan Uggla slams his 32nd home run, and second of the series. 1-1 tie game. his home run was another deep bomb.

Eovaldi would get flustered, allowing a single to Chipper Jones.but Freeman grounds into a double play, and Heyward whiffs.

the Dodgers couldn't score Loney from second after he doubles in the third off of Mike Minor.

the Dodger defense once again turns another double play in the bottom of the third to keep the Braves from scoring. gonzalez walks, Minor bunts out, Bourne singles Gonzalez to third. dammit he's a speedy bastard aint he?
but, Prado grounds into another double play.

top of the 4th, Rivera walks, Mitchell playing for Miles who was given a day off, singles rivera to second. but Gwynn whiffs, and the Dodgers get a taste of their own medicine. Ellis whiffs, on a busted hit and run play, and Rivera is left out to dry, and thats that.

move to the bottom of the 5th, as the Dodgers get another double play. Gonzalez walks, Minor's bunt once again is bad, and the Dodgers get the lead runner out at second. Bourne's sharp liner is snared by a leaping James Loney, who has been paling fantastic lately. Loney touches the bag at first and throws to second for the double play. were still tied.

the game would get more sketchy as we moved along. in the top of the 6th, Russelll Mitchell singles, but Gwynn grounds into a double play. still tied at 1-1.

O'flaherty pitches a scoreless inning for Atlanta in relief for Minor.
Elbert comes in for the 7th. he gets Freeman to fly out to Kemp. Matt Diaz who has rejoined the Braves, pinch hitting singles up the middle. Constanza pinch runs for him. Donnie comes out and brings the hook, Enter Kenley Jansen. somehow Jansen balks, and  Constanza goes to second. but Jansen whiffs Hinske, and Gonzalez and the Braves get nothin'

top of the 8th, High sock wearing tough lefty Jonny Venters is in. Sellers singles into right field, and Dee Gordon pinch runs for him. then Donnie does his bunting crap again, asking Loney, who was 2 for 3 to bunt. he does bunt and move Gordon over to third, and I know that Kemp was on deck, but with first base open they will just walk him, and why are you having your number 2 hitter in the lineup who's your hottest hitter at the moment bunting? come on Donnie.
well anyways I won't be too hard on Donnie since the Dodgers are playing outstanding baseball, and even Donnie has been making better in-game decisions lately. to no one;s surprise. Kemp is intentionally walked. theres a passed ball that sends Gordon to third. but Rivera and Mitchell both whiff and thats all in the top of the 8th.

bottom of the 8th, Jansen still in, whiffs McCann and Uggla, and were still tied going to the 9th.

top of the 9th, and we get to see the Braves league leading save leader Craig Kimbrel, who has 41 saves, a 1.19 ERA, and a strikeout to walk line of 110/25. he gets Gwynn to ground out. Ellis walks. Velez pinch runs for him. but Carroll whiffs, and Ethier who had the day off as well, also Whiff hitting for Jansen.

Bottom of the 9th, here is where things get really sketchy. Kuo comes in and relieves Jansen. Jones and Freeman both ground out. then Constanza beats out a grounder to short, for an infield single. the play was close.

Donnie instantly comes out with a hook, and brings in Dougie. were all on pins and needles here. Dougie throws hard, but has trouble locating his pitches. Alex Gonzalez singles Constanza to second. Brooks Conrad pinch hits for Kimbrel. we start praying. with two strikes, Dougie throws a borderline cut fastball on the corner, he gets the call, for a called strike three. and the Dodgers get out of it! Phew! I was sweating bullets.

Rivera sac fly put the Dodgers ahead in the 10th
top of the 10th. extra innings now.  Varvaro on to pitch now. Dee Gordon uses his electrifying speed to win it for the Dodgers. he slaps a hit into center, and with his speed, he's into second base easily with a leg double. Loney is asked to bunt again, and does, sending Gordon to third. Kemp is intentionally walked again. Rivera's sac fly to center is plenty deep to score Gordon. DODGERS TAKE THE LEAD 2-1!!!!

Guerra records his 15th save
bottom of the 10th, Guerra on to close shop. Bourne and Prado ground out, and Mccann whiffs, and the Dodgers win their 6th in a row!!!
Dougie picks up a win, Guerra his 15th save, and Dee a game ball. Clayton Kershaw will go to the mound tomorrow looking for his 18th win. now Atlanta is really in trouble. game time is at 1030AM on KCAL.
join us tomorrow as the Dodgers look for the sweep! very good game today, had me sweating but we pulled it out. this Dodger team is no pushover no more. with each day brings new hope. Together we rise, together we stand. GO BLUE
