Hiroki Kuroda-11-14 vs. John Lannan-8-11

Last Night, the Dodger defense, typically a team Strength for most of this season, and throughout the winning streak, was their undoing last night. Aaron Mile's wide throw in the 7th inning pulled Justin Sellers off the bag, on what would have been a double play ball. dooming Kershaw to a no decision, and the Dodgers to defeat. how many times have we seen the Dodgers make that play during the win streak?

Aaron Miles was very upset after the game. the normally plucky utility player, was down and upset. he was talking like he had cost Kershaw the Cy Young with his errant throw. I think we sometimes forget how close knit this Dodger team is. they all know the situation and that Kershaw and Kemp are both in the hunt for MVP and Cy Young. one error could cost Kershaw a victory against a team like the Braves. its ok Miles, just don't do it again.
the Dodgers will try and get back on track add they fly into Washington D.C. for a four game series with the struggling Nationals.

Hiroki Kuroda will go to the mound for the Dodgers looking for his career high 12th win. last start he got the victory against San Diego, and plenty of run support. Kuroda has been pitching very well, he is 1-1 vs Washington with a 2.33 ERA.

Washington will counter with lefty John Lannan. he is 8-11 on the year with a solid 3.54 ERA. he hasn't been great this year, but solid. he's pitched well in the past vs the Dodgers. a 3-1 record and 2.84 ERA.

no one has hit Lannan very well, although Ethier does have a home run in 5 AB. of coarse if we do lose I'm sure the blogosphere will find some way to blame it on Ethier. he's like this year's scapegoat for some unknown reason. because "Ethier sucks and plays bad defense, his UZR is negative 1. whatever, and he can't hit lefties , lets trade him, der! doh di doh doh." Im being sarcastic of coarse.

so with out all-star right fielder on the bench, so is Loney as Mattingly loads up the lineup with righties against the lefty Lannan. Mitchell will get a start at first base, and Carroll starts at second.

labor day marks the three quarter mark of the season. so lets get back on track with a win. the Nationals aren't very good, so lets not screw this one up, ok boys?
game time is an early game 1005AM on Prime Ticket. ok boys in blue, Uncle Sam wants you to win!
make it happen. GO BLUE
