The Dodgers blasted the Bucs 15-1 today. Chad Billingsley who had four no-decisions in a row, and had been pitching very poorly of late righted the ship pitching 5 solid innings of 1 run ball.
The Dodgers exploded by scoring three runs in the first, 6 runs in the second, and two more in the third.
Loney had five hits. Kemp, Gordon, and Rivera, had three hits, and Sands had four hits, with Sands driving in four runs. Kemp and Sands both hit home runs during the fireworks. all tolled the Dodgers scored 15 runs on 23 hits.

It was a long day for Brad Lincoln

Bills looked much better today and he starts off by pitching a scoreless first inning. he whiffs Presley and Xman, McCutchen singles and steals second. Doumit flies out.

bottom of the first, the Dodgers teed off of Pirates rookie Brad Lincoln. Gordon leads off and triples into the gap. he scores on Carroll's ground out. 1-0 Dodgers. Bison hits a mammoth home run to deep center field. his 34th of the season. 2-0 Dodgers. they would add one more run. Loney singles. Miles singles Loney to third. Sandman's base hit up the middle scores Loney. 3-0 Dodgers. Ellis whiffs to end the first.

Bills pitches a scoreless second. he walked Alvarez, but whiffs Cedeno.

The Dodgers score 6 runs in the second inning, all with two outs. heres how it happened. it was pretty awesome I must say.
Bills singles to open the bottom of the second. Gordon sacrifices him to second. Carroll lines out. Bison singles home Bills. 4-0 Dodgers. thats 113 RBI for Bison.
Rivera's line drive base hit sends Kemp to third. finally Clint Hurdle had seen enough and brings a hook for the rookie Lincoln. Aaron Thompson relieves Lincoln. the rook only lasts 1.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits.
Loney greets Thompson with a double over McCutchen's head, scoring Kemp and Rivera. 6-0 Dodgers.
Miles walks, and Sandman hits one up into the left field bleachers for a home run. its a three run shot 9-0 Dodgers. Sandman is red hot. thats his third home run with the Dodgers. Ellis walks, and we have a good ol' fashion rout. Bills comes up again, remember he led off the inning with a single. he grounds out and the inning is finally over.

Bills gets through the third inning. Xman singled. McCutchen walked. but Bills whiffs Doumit to get out of it.

Some guy named Leroux is on the mound for the Bucs. Gordon walks. Carroll lines out. Bison doubles off the wall in right field. the ball almost going out as Xavier Paul (Xman) slips on the warning track.
Rivera's base hit scores Gordon and Kemp. its now 11-0! holy crap what a shellacking!
Loney Singles, and the hits just keep on comin' Miles groundout moves the runners to second and third.

Hurdle is forced to remove Leroux. Enter Chris Resop. he whiffs sands at that ends the third. but its 11-0 and in case your wondering, no there is no mercy rule in the majors.

Bills pitches a scoreless fourth, retiring walker jones and Alvarez.

The Bucs score in the top of the 5th. with 1 out, D'arnoud batting for resop singles. Presley flies out. Xman, doubles scoring D'arnoud. 11-1. McCutchen's long drive to center is caught by Bison as he leaps against the wall. great catch!

Kemp makes another great catch
Evan Meek enters to pitch the 5th. Kemp with a chance for a cycle whiffs. Rivera walks, Loney's bloop single to center gives him his fourth hit. Miles walks to load the bases. Sands whiffs. Ellis draws a walk to force in a run. 12-1 Dodgers. Hurdle makes another pitching change, and Daniel McCutchen whiffs Bills.

top of the 6th, with Kuo on the mound, Kemp is removed as Trent Oeltjen replaces him. I would have liked to see Kemp stay in to go for the cycle, but Mattinlgy wanted him to get a well deserved standing ovation from the crowd. as Bison walks to the dugout, Dodger fans stand and chant MVP.....MVP!
our MVP center fielder ducks into the dugout. Matt KeMVP
Kuo pitches a 123 6th inning, but the crowd was still buzzing. Bills final line is 5 innings 1 run 4 hits 2 walks and 5 whiffs. Bills made 98 pitches and qualifies for the win.

Gorodn and Carroll both single to lead off the bottom of the 6th. the Dodgers just don't stop do they? Oeltjen now hitting for Kemp, moves the runners over with a grounder to first. Rivera's room service fly ball to right center falls in between Presley and Xman. neither could figure out who was gonna catch the ball. Gordon and Carroll both score. its 14-1 Charitable scoring gives Rivera a double. theres a wild pitch that moves him to third. then Loney collects another hit to score Rivera. 15-1. Mitchell singles to left. Thats the Dodgers 20th hit of the game. unbelievable. Sandman another hit loads the bases again. Ellis ends the inning by hitting into an around the horn double play.

With the game well in hand John Ely makes a cameo in the 7th inning. he pitches a scoreless frame.
Ely also pitches a scoreless 8th inning.

Move to the top of the 9th with the score still 15-1 Dodgers. Troncosco comes in to finish the game. Jones pops out, Alvarez whiffs. Cedeno singles. Ciriaco singles. Presley grounds out to end it. Dodgers win 15-1.

this was quite a parade of hits wasn't it? With this win the Dodgers are now back to .500 at 76-76. just five more wins for a winning season. The Dodgers will have monday off, and then the Giants will come in for one last battle. the final three home games of the 2011 season begin on tuesday night. Clayton Kershaw will go for his 20th win, hell draw Tim Lincecum again for the fourth time. Kershaw has beaten Timmy all three times.  Expect a late post game edition on tuesday. Ill be in class until 10 or so, but Ill be keeping an eye on the scoreboard and will watch the game on replay after class. Tuesday night's battle deserves a proper recap. btw I sorted out my internet issues. Lets just sayTimewarner sucks.
Join us on tuesday at 705, as we continue to chronicle the journey of the Dodgers Baseball season. we've got one final chance to stick it to the Giants. One last act of defiance before we head into winter. The Giants have won 8 in a row and are trying one final hail mary run to get to the playoffs. not if we have anything to say about it. GO BLUE
