The Dodgers face their biggest test tonight. game 1 of a three game set in Atlanta. the Dodgers have caught a break, as braves Ace Jair Jurgens has been scratched from his sunday start because of injury. the Braves will have a rookie named Delgado make the start instead.
The Braves have one of the best home records in the league-(46-26), and have a strong and capable lineup full of scary mashers. well have to watch out for Brian Mccann, Freddie Freeman, Dan Uggla, and Chipper Jones. (yes hes still playing) the Braves have a commanding lead in the National League wild card race, and have won 81 games.
so the Dodgers will give the ball to Chad Billingsley, hoping to keep their four game winning streak alive. Bills is 10-10, and has had a jekyl and hide type season. in his last start Bills allowed three runs through 6 innings, earning him a quality start. Bills is 1-3 against Atlanta with a 3.35 ERA. no one in the Atlanta lineup has really hit him well, excpet for Martin Prado whos hitting .375 off Bills in 8 at bats, and Brian Mccann has hit a homerun off him.
the Braves will counter with right hander Brandon Beachy. the Dodgers have only faced Beachy once, and he has been on quite a roll latly. the young righty has a 2.55 ERA in his last 7 starts and has allowed only 2 runs or fewer in four straight starts.
the Dodgers announced today, that Juan Uribe will have season ending surgery on his hernia, and will not return this year. good riddance to that bum I say.
the Dodgers have scored 87 runs over their last 14 games, and during that span they are 11-3.
Justin Sellers will get his first start at second base tonight. as Dee Gordon returned to the Dodgers Lineup yesterday.
Im not looking forward to hearing a whole weekend of that annoyng tomohawk chant, but were going to have to hear it while the Dodgers are down there this weekend. this will be the Dodgers only trip ton Atlanta this season. Can Kemp, Ethier, and Loney lead the Cinderella Dodgers to victory in Hotlanta?
tonight's game is at 435PM on Prime Ticket. lets stop the chop! GO BLUE
