Dodger stadium is winless pitcher's haven

Pirates    6 12 1
Dodgers 2 6 0
WP-Ohlendorf-1-2
LP-Eveland-2-1
SV-Hanrahan-38
HR-Mitchell-2-Ohlendorf-1

Dodger stadium is a winless pitcher's haven this year. as we've seen multiple already, guys who have yet to win a game this year, or even the last couple of years, come to pitch at the Ravine, and the Dodgers make them feel very welcome, being the nice guys that they are.

Ross Ohlendorf (???!!!!?) yeah him, he pitches 7 strong innings, allowing two runs, on 6 hits and whiffing 6 Dodger batters. he also delivered the big blow with the bat, blasting a three run home run, picking up his first win since July 2 , 2010. his first win this year, officially eliminating the Dodgers from the division race, and their elimination for the wild card is now only 1.

Ohlendorf gets his first win this year, and hits a three run home run, yeah I'de say it was a good night for him.

Im sorry guys but I wasn't able to watch this game either as I was in school all night, but I kept my eye on the scoreboard, and Stacie gave me updates throughout the night. needless to say this was a pathetic showing in a meaningless game.

COC graduate Dana Eveland had a horrible start. pitching 5 innings and allowing  4 runs, including the home run to Ohlendorf. and as you should know a Major League pitcher, should not be allowing home runs to Ross Ohlendorf. that goes without saying. this game also marked the debut of Tim Federowicz. young fedex picked up his first big league hit, and was 1 for 2 with a walk.

The Dodgers got on the board early, as Gordon singles, and steals second. steal #19 for Gordon.
Sellers ground rule double scores Gordon and its 1-0 Dodgers.

Pittsburgh scored four runs in the top of the second inning. with 1 out, Doumit singles, after walker flies out, Ludwick doubles him to third.  Brandon Wood singles in Doumit, tie game 1-1. then Ohlendorf hits an opposite field homer, putting the Pirates up 4-1.

move to the top of the 5th, Russ Mitchell slams a home run his second of the year, and its a 4-2 game. the inning would end without any more scoring, but young Fedex does get his first hit. congrats Tim!
although Velez did whiff in his pinch hit at bat, as he now is 0 for 32, as he continues his march towards historic futility.

The Pirates score two more in the 8th inning off of Guerrier. Derek Lee singles, theres a passed ball, Doumit doubles him in. 5-2. Ludwick singles in Doumit, and its 6-2 Pirates.

Bison attempts to steal second.
The Dodgers mounted a useless two out rally in the bottom of the 9th. Evan Meek was on the mound, and allows a single to Sands, walks Mitchell and Fedex to load the bases. The Pirates bring in their closer Joel Hanrahan who has 37 saves, and a microscopic ERA. he retires pinch hitter Aaron Miles on a fly ball.

Doumit and Hanrahan celebrate after the Pirates 6-2 win
well this game was awful. the only good news we got tonight, was the news that Clayton Kershaw will not receive any kind of suspension, for hitting parra last night. thank god. the Dodgers who are now 73-76, look unlikely to win the 8 games they need to have a winning season. The most important thing the rest of the season will be getting Kershaw his 20th win so that he can win the Cy Young.

also Kurorda had an MRI that revealed no damage to his sore neck. he is expected to make his next scheduled start which is tomorrow.

Tomorrow night, Hiroki Kuroda will take the mound, hell counter some winless noob from Pittsburgh. Im guessing well make him feel right at home won't we boys? sigh. see you tomorrow night guys. GO BLUE!
