good afternoon Dodger fans. today is a rare radio only day for the Dodgers on this beautiful saturday afternoon. fox who was originally scheduled to televise today's game, has decided to drop coverage. the game will be on the Dodgers flagship radio network KABC 790. this of coarse harkens us back to the seasons of our childhood. Stac and I remember very vividly, the radio only days of yesteryear. back in those days not many games were on TV. only about 60, so most games were radio only, and we could catch the highlights on sports center, and thats it.
I remember when they started televising ten home games per season, and those were a big deal. home games were never televised and back in those days were blacked out. of coarse I will be watching the game on MLB.tv once the game is over since blackout restrictions screw me from watching it live.
well anyways the pitching match ups for today's game look like this. Ted Lilly will take the mound for the Dodgers. Lilly is 7-13, but has pitched much better latly. its like Lilly has taken over Kuroda's bad luck. he hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his last four starts, but the dodgers have only scored like three runs for him in that time. while the Dodger lineup will look for more runs, Lilly will look to keep the ball in the park. he has allowed an eye popping 26 home runs this year. Lilly is 7-2 lifetime against Colorado.
Colorado will counter with young Esmil Rogers. Rogers is 6-2, but his ERA is 6.00 last start he allowed 7 runs, and the Dodgers haven't really seen him much.
while the Dodgers lead the season series over colorado by 7-6, but they'll be without Andre Ethier again, he's still bothered by an ingrown toenail Trent Oeltjen will start in his place.
Bog Rod is out of the lineup too, after homering last night, he pulled his groin running to first base, he is listed as day-to day, and fatty is starting at catcher for today.
Blake is still out with extreme rustiness as well. we don't know how long his rustiness will keep him out, but it looks like he is also day to day.
stay with us after the game, a 110PM start time, well have a radio friendly post game recap. will injury kill the Dodger Lineup? don't switch that station Dodger fans! GO BLUE
