Mets @ Dodgers
7:10pm
Game 3
Look on the bright side Dodger fans. There are worst teams out there. We're only 4th worst in the Majors. The Dodgers have lost 4 games in a row, and are 13 games under .500 and solidly in last place 3 games behind San Diego who's in 4th in the NL West. The last game we won was last Friday against the Angels which was coincidently Kuroda's last start. So we have gone through the entire rotation without a win except for Kuroda.
Hiroki Kuroda (6-9, 2.90) had a great outing last time against the Angels when he finally broke his losing streak and the Dodgers actually scored 5 runs to help his cause. Hiroki will hope the offense doesn't have another repeat of last night when they got shut-out by the Mets. Lefty Jon Niese (7-7, 3.72) will go to the mound for New York. He lost last Friday to the Yankees, but he has pitched well in the past month.
The Mets have also been playing without their All-Star shortstop, Jose Reyes. He has a strained hamstring, but hasn't been placed on the DL yet.
Blue Book Notes:
A scoring change in last Friday's game against the Angels now reflects that Dee Gordon stole 2nd, 3rd, & home in the same inning. This is the first time a Dodger has done this feat in 83 years. Harvey Kendrick had a base stealing cycle for the Dodgers back in 1928. Jayson Werth did it against the Dodgers in 2009.
Aaron Miles suffered an elbow contusion in last night's game after getting hit by a pitch and is listed as day-to-day.
Rod Barajas is still rehabbing from a sprained ankle, and hopefully will be back before the All-star break.
Lineup:
Furcal 6
Carroll 4
Ethier 9
Kemp 8
Uribe 5
Loney 3
Velez 7
Ellis 2
Kuroda 1
Oh lord, Velez is starting in left field tonight. I guess Donnie just wants to give everyone a chance to start in left field. Why not! I still don't understand why he doesn't just start Gwynn in left primarily. Let's hope there's not many balls hit to that area of the ballpark tonight. Ethier is back in the lineup after not feeling well. A sick Dre is better than no Dre.
Go Blue:)
