we were all brought back down to earth after the Dodgers 3 game winning streak was snapped by an Ubaldo Jimenez 4-hit shutout on wend. there is reason for optimism, after the Dodgers scored 23 runs during a three game stretch, and won two straight series. finishing the homestand at 4-2.
the Dodgers begin a 10 game road trip, that could make or break there season. they will begin with three games in Cincinnati, three games in Philadelphia, and end with a four gamer in Colorado.
the reds have fallen in the standings recently, in third place, thanks to a grueling schedule and a recent 19 game inning marathon.
the Dodgers are expected to get three players back this trip, and subsequent roster moves are expected.
Vicente Padilla is due back on friday, and should slide back into the closer role. Padilla was on the DL with forearm soreness, resulting from a Nerve surgery before the season. Rookie Josh Lindblom, who made his MLB debut the other night, is expected to be sent down to make room.
also due back in the next few days, is third baseman Juan Uribe, coming off the DL from a hip flexor injury, and outfielder Marcus Thames, who is finally healing from a sore quad muscle.
look for Juan Castro to be sent down when Uribe is back, and well see who is sent down in place of Marcus Thames. so far no roster moves have been made yet.
the pitching matchup tonight has Hiroki Kuroda, who is 5-5, coming off of two bad starts. the reds will counter with Bronson Arroyo, who is 3-5, and also coming off two very bad starts. Arroyo, has had a poor year. Kuroda is 3-0 career vs the reds, while Arroyo is 3-4 against the Dodgers.
the Dodgers are 26-31 fourth pace in the NL west, 5.5 games out of first place.
tonights game is at 405, on PT. GO BLUE!

*were getting strange reports in that Jon Garland did not fly with the team to Cincy, my guess is hes going on the DL, and De La Rosa, will take his spot in the rotation. not suprising that another mediocre useless vet is hurt again. none of these useless retreads can stay healthy. we will keep you informed when we find out more information. go blue
